The Conference of Swiss Universities of Music (CSUM) is composed of the directors of the Swiss Universities of Music.

The CSUM
- supports and promotes the development and positioning of musical vocational training across the entire stylistic range of music and music education.
- represents as a specialist conference the interests of the Department of Music to swissuniversities, SBFI, EDK as well as to universities and other higher-level organizations of the higher education sector.
- sets / coordinates and reviews quality standards within musical vocational education.
- conducts an active communication with the aim of making music education and education visible and public in music, education landscape and public.
- maintains close contact with the Association of Swiss Music Schools (VMS) as well as professional organizations in the field of music.
- maintains contact with the German and Austrian conservatoire conferences as well as with the international AEC.
